GCSE RESULTS DAY

West Lakes Academy staff and students receive their 2023 GCSE results.

Principal, Abby Deeks said: “Today we celebrate with all those students who have worked hard and achieved success today. There were some fantastic individual performances from students and I’d like to take the opportunity to thank the staff, families and friends who have supported these students in achieving their successes. I look forward to seeing many of these students studying with us next year in the sixth form.”

Pleasing results were achieved by many including:

Lauren Godwin is feeling “amazing!” after opening her results to find eight grade 9s and one grade 8.

Levi McAdam achieved grade 8s and 9s and one 6.

Levi said: “I’m really happy with my results, we’re going out for a meal to celebrate and then I’m playing football.”

Levi will join the academy in September for sixth form.

Jack Albertelli-Cowan is celebrating an impressive set of results. Jack will study A Levels at the academy’s sixth form in maths, physics, history and drama.

Holly Percival is going out for a meal to celebrate a fantastic set of exam results and will soon begin her pipe fitting apprenticeship with Balfour Beatty.

Rowan Walker said: “I’m pleased with my results, I’ve done better than expected. I’m coming back to WLA in September to do A Levels in maths, physics and history.”

Campbell Sutton is feeling “pretty good” with his results, he will join the academy’s sixth form in September and would like to go on to study physiotherapy at university.

Beth Blythe is looking forward to joining the WLA Sixth Form after she achieved a fantastic set of exam results.

Rowan Brierley is celebrating her amazing 7, 8 and 9 grades with friends. Rowan would love to study astrophysics at university in the future and will be back at the academy in September to study A Levels.

Ellen Pringle and Abigail Hill are feeling good and looking forward to joining the academy’s sixth form in September.
