Year 9 and 10 have recently competed in the UKMT Intermediate Challenge. This is a national challenge where the brightest Mathematicians in schools across the country compete. To recognize the highest performers in the Challenge, they award the top-scoring 50% of participants Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates in the ratio 3:2:1.

From year 9, Heidi Rudd has done brilliantly and got the best score out of our year 9s and achieved a Silver certificate, with the school’s Junior UKMT best performer from last year, Jack Murray, very close behind and also achieving a Silver certificate. Morgan McDowell and Anna Jenkinson have also performed really well and achieved Bronze.

From year 10, Lorenzo Villarivera has smashed it and got the best score in the school, achieving the Gold certificate. This is a fantastic achievement. Year 10 have done particularly well and we have six more students achieving Silver and nine more achieving Bronze. These were Connor Armstrong, Tom Banner, Adam Foster, Sophie Messenger, Asia Sutcliffe and Rosie Whiteley (Silver) and Aaliyah Ardon, Leah Bainbridge, Zoe Billington, Casson Chadwick, Emily Strain, Charlie Fearon, Max Musson, Jake Nicholls and Tilly Owen (Bronze).

Well done to all involved!
